Worthing Pier closed on 10th October 2024 after one of the underside supports was damaged during a storm.
The Denton Lounge was opened on the 31st July 1959 by the Mayor of Worthing, H. W. Bradley.

Gale force seas battered and destroyed the Worthing Pier promenade, leaving the Pavilion isolated in the water. Local people renamed the Pavilion “Easter Island”.
